Who Can Edit Profiles

Practitioner Priority Mode

Only the practitioner themselves can edit their profile:

  • Log in as yourself
  • Visit your personal booking page
  • Edit controls appear for your profile

Office Priority Mode

Practitioners cannot be edited by office admins on the office page:

  • Office admins can set override images
  • Profile content comes from the practitioner’s own settings
  • Practitioner controls their own bio, credentials, etc.

Editing Your Profile

Step-by-Step

  1. Log in to OutSmart as yourself
  2. Visit your practitioner booking page
  3. Find your profile card in the hero section
  4. Click the pencil icon (edit button)
  5. A modal opens with editable fields
  6. Make your changes
  7. Click Save

Field Details

Title

The honorific before your name:

  • Dr., Mr., Ms., Mrs., Mx.
  • Leave blank if not applicable

First Name / Last Name

Your full legal or professional name:

  • Used throughout the booking experience
  • Appears on confirmations and calendar

Suffix/Credentials

Professional designations after your name:

  • Enter as comma-separated values

  • Example: MD, PhD, FRCP

  • Each credential becomes a colored pill badge

    Credentials appear as pill badges using your secondary color (tag color).

Bio

Your professional biography:

  • Supports bold and italic formatting
  • Displayed in the hero card and “Read More” modal
  • Truncated on cards, full version in modal
  • Keep professional and patient-focused

Display Phone / Display Email

Override contact information shown on your booking page:

  • Leave blank to use your actual contact record
  • Enter a value to display something different
  • Actual contact info shown as placeholder hint

Bio Writing Tips

Good Bio Elements

  • Professional background and training
  • Specializations and areas of focus

  • Languages spoken (if relevant)

Dr. Smith is a board-certified family physician with over 15 years of experience in primary care. She specializes in preventive medicine and women’s health, with a particular interest in helping patients manage chronic conditions through lifestyle modifications. Dr. Smith is known for her patient-centered approach and takes time to ensure each patient feels heard and understood.

Formatting Tips

  • Keep paragraphs short
  • Use bold for emphasis on key points
  • Write in third person
  • Be professional but approachable
  • Keep under 200 words for readability

How Profile Appears

Hero Card (Practitioner Priority)

Shows:

  • Photo
  • Full name with title and credentials
  • Abbreviated bio (first few lines)
  • Contact information

Read More Modal

When patients click “Read More”:

  • Full bio displayed
  • All credentials shown
  • Complete contact information
  • Social media links (if enabled)

Team Cards (Office Priority)

Shows:

  • Photo (or override)
  • Name and credentials
  • Truncated bio
  • “Read More” link

Saving Profile Changes

When you click Save:

  • Data validates immediately
  • Profile updates in the database
  • Page reflects changes without refresh
  • Error message shown if save fails

Troubleshooting

Can’t See Edit Button

  • Verify you’re logged in as the practitioner (not someone else)
  • Must be on your practitioner priority page
  • Office admins cannot edit practitioner profiles

Credentials Not Formatting Correctly

  • Separate with commas: MD, PhD, RMT
  • Don’t include periods within abbreviations
  • Each entry becomes a separate pill

Bio Formatting Lost

  • Only bold and italic are supported
  • Other formatting is stripped
  • Use the B and I buttons to format

Display Contact Not Showing

  • Verify you entered a value
  • Empty fields fall back to actual contact
  • Refresh the page after saving
