Reordering Services

How Service Ordering Works

Services appear in a specific order on your booking page:

  • Within each category, services follow your custom order
  • The order you set in the sidebar is the order patients see
  • Changes are saved automatically when you drop

Reordering Within a Category

Step-by-Step

  1. Log in with administrator permissions
  2. Visit your booking page in edit mode
  3. Navigate to the sidebar service list
  4. Find the service you want to move
  5. Click and hold the drag handle (left side of the card)
  6. Drag the service up or down
  7. Drop at the desired position
  8. The new order saves automatically

Visual Feedback

While dragging:

  • The service card follows your cursor
  • A drop target indicator shows where it will land
  • Other services shift to make room

After dropping:

  • The service appears in its new position
  • A brief spinner may appear while saving
  • The booking panel updates to reflect the new order

Moving Services Between Categories

You can also move services to different categories:

  1. Drag a service from its current category
  2. Hover over the target category header
  3. The category expands if collapsed
  4. Drop the service into the category
  5. Both the category assignment and order are saved

Reordering Categories

Categories themselves can be reordered:

  1. Find the category header in the sidebar
  2. Click and hold the category’s drag handle
  3. Drag the category up or down
  4. Drop at the desired position
  5. All services within the category move together

What’s Saved

  • Service order within each category
  • Category assignment for each service
  • Category order in the sidebar

Where It’s Stored

Order is saved specifically for your booking page:

  • Office pages save to office preferences
  • Practitioner pages save to practitioner preferences
  • Different pages can have different orders

Default Order

New Services

When you add a new service:

  • It appears at the end of “Other Services” or the default category
  • You can then drag it to your preferred position

Initial Setup

If you haven’t set an order:

  • Services appear in their system default order
  • Usually alphabetical or by creation date
  • Set your preferred order after enabling services

Best Practices for Service Order

Place your most commonly booked services near the top:

  • Patients find them quickly
  • Less scrolling required
  • Higher conversion rates

Logical Grouping

Even within categories, group related services:

  • New patient services together
  • Follow-up services together
  • Specialty services together

Consider the Flow

Think about the patient journey:

  1. Initial consultation first
  2. Follow-up services next
  3. Specialty or add-on services last

Seasonal Adjustments

Consider adjusting order seasonally:

  • Promote flu shots in fall
  • Allergy services in spring
  • Keep relevant services visible

Order in the Booking Panel

Category Slider Order

Categories in the horizontal slider match your sidebar order.

Service Card Order

When a patient clicks a category:

  • Services appear in your defined order
  • “All” shows all services in category order
  • Services maintain position within their category

Troubleshooting

Drag Not Working

  • Ensure you’re clicking the drag handle (left side)
  • Verify you’re logged in with edit permissions
  • Wait for any pending saves to complete
  • Try refreshing the page

Order Not Saving

  • Watch for the saving spinner
  • Wait for save to complete before navigating away
  • Check your internet connection

Service Moved to Wrong Category

  • Simply drag it again to the correct category
  • Categories expand on hover while dragging

Order Appears Wrong to Patients

  • Refresh your browser to see the current order
  • Check if you’re viewing the right booking page
  • Verify you saved changes before leaving edit mode
