V1 Setup Overview
This article walks through the steps to set up the original (V1) online booking system. The setup flow is:
- Hours of Operation
- Event Types
- Office Profile
- Practitioner Profile
- Online Booking Options panel
- Use the Personal and Office URLs to add a Book Now button to your website
Steps 1–4 are shared with the current online booking system and are documented in their natural homes. Steps 5–6 are V1-specific and are covered in this section.
1. Hours of Operation
Hours of Operation are calendar background events that define when your online booking page can offer appointments. Without them, the booking page has no idea when you’re available.
See Setting Up Your Hours of Operation and Advanced Hours of Operation.
2. Event Types
Each appointment a patient can book online is based on a pre-defined Event Type. Event Types control duration, price, intake forms attached, reminders, and many other per-appointment behaviors.
See Creating Event Types.
3. Office Profile
Your office profile (name, address, contact info, logo) appears on your online booking page and in confirmation messages.
See Editing Your Office Profile.
4. Practitioner Profile
Each practitioner’s profile (picture, professional bio, credentials) appears on the office booking page so patients can choose between practitioners.
5. Online Booking Options
The V1 Online Booking Options panel is where you configure global rules — Magnetic Booking, scheduling intervals, breaks between visits, minimum booking notice, and online cancellation. See V1 Online Booking Options Panel.
6. Add a Book Now Button to Your Website
Once your Online Booking Options are saved, OutSmart generates a Personal Booking Link and an Office Booking Link that you can use to add a Book Now button to your website. See V1 Book Now Button.
Per-Office Setup
The above steps need to be done for each office you have created in OutSmart. Some pieces (Practitioner Profile, Event Types) carry over from one office to the next; others (Hours of Operation, Office Profile, Online Booking Options) need to be set per office.
