Linking a Patient to Other Practitioners or Offices

There are two main reasons why you might need to connect a single patient record to multiple office locations or practitioners:

• The patient is being seen by the same practitioner in multiple locations.
• The same patient is being seen by multiple practitioners at the same location.

OutSmart’s patient list respects certain Patient Privacy Rules:

• Patients are linked to specific offices and practitioners based on appointments.
• Patients of one practitioner cannot be seen by another practitioner in the same office unless they book an appointment with them.
• Admin staff can directly assign a patient to a practitioner if using the calendar is not an option.
• Patients can be assigned to offices by either booking an appointment at that location or being assigned by a practitioner.

These procedures ensure that either an admin or a practitioner is directly involved in and aware of the sharing of patient information.
