The Application Header Bar
The Application Header Bar is a key element of the EMR, located at the top of every page. It provides quick access to core features, including the Main Navigation Menu, the Search Bar, and Quick Access icons.

The Application Header Bar is located at the top of every page of the EMR.
Main Navigation Menu
The Main Navigation Menu is your gateway to all the main pages within the EMR. To quickly access specific sub-pages, click the down arrow to the right of the main menu options to open a submenu.

Header Search Bar
Located in the center of the Application Header Bar, the search bar allows you to quickly find information within the EMR.

Select the scope first, before entering your search term.
To use the search:
- Select the scope of your search from the dropdown menu.
- Type your search term and press Enter.
This will display a list of search results and relevant actions.
The following search scopes are currently available:
- Patients
- Documents
- Appointments
- Soap Charts (for practitioners) / Treatment Plans (for administrators)
- SmartForms
- Dispensary
Quick Access Icons
The Quick Access Icons provide immediate access to essential functions from anywhere within the application. These icons are available on every page, ensuring that key features are always within reach, whether you are charting, invoicing, or updating patient information.

The Content Area
Underneath the Application Header is the Content Area. This is where all the various pages in OutSmart will be displayed.
