Initial Dispensary Configuration
Configuring Taxes
This process involves setting up both Tax Rates and Tax Groups. For example, you might have a Provincial Tax of 8% and a Federal Tax of 5%. These are your Tax Rates. You can then combine these into a Tax Group called “Taxable Goods,” which you can apply to any taxable item you sell.
Create Tax Rates
- Log in to your Dispensary and navigate to Dispensary Settings > Tax Rates.
- Click the + button to create a new Tax Rate, or the blue Edit button to modify an existing one.
- In the editor, enter the Tax Name (e.g., HST), Tax Rate (e.g., 10), and Tax Type (e.g., percentage). You can also include your Business Tax Number in the Tax Name field. Click Save to save your changes.

Create Tax Groups
- Navigate to Dispensary Settings > Tax Groups.
- Click the + button to create a new Tax Group, or the blue Edit button to modify an existing one.
- In the editor, enter a Tax Group Title (e.g., Taxable Goods) and a Description. Select one or more Tax Rates to add to the group. Click Save to save your changes.

Taxes can be removed from a Tax Group by clicking the red button.
Creating Item Categories
Categories are used to organize your billable items (products and services) for reporting purposes. It’s a good idea to plan your categories based on how you want to organize your income. You can create broad categories like “Services,” “Supplements,” and “Labs,” or more specific ones like “Acupuncture Services” and “IV Services.”
- Navigate to Products > Categories.
- Click the + button to create a new Category, or the blue Edit button to modify an existing one.
- In the editor, enter a Category Name (e.g., Supplements) and a Category Description. You can also disable or enable a category here. Click Save to save your changes.

Setting a Shipping Address
A Shipping Address is required if you plan on creating Purchase Orders to manage your inventory.
- Navigate to Dispensary Settings > Address Book.
- Enter all of your address information and select Default Address at the bottom to use this address for all purchase orders.
- Click Save to save the address.

Fill out every field with a red asterisk. Remember to save when you’re done.
