Welcome to the OutSmart EMR knowledgebase — the help guide for practitioners and clinic admin staff who use OutSmart day to day.

The guide grows alongside the product. As features are added or refined, the corresponding articles are added or updated here. If you go looking for something and can’t find it, contact us at contact.outsmartemr.com — we’ll either point you at the right page or write one.


The knowledgebase is also inside OutSmart

You don’t have to come to this site every time you have a question. Every page inside OutSmart has an AI Help widget that sits at the bottom center of the screen. It searches the same knowledgebase you’re reading right now, but with a few advantages:

  • Ask in plain English. Type your question the way you’d ask a colleague — “how do I refund a partial payment?”, “what’s the difference between Smart Forms V1 and V2?”, “where do I see the audit trail for a patient form?” — and the assistant pulls the relevant article (or articles) and answers in context, with links to the source pages.
  • It already knows where you are. Because the widget opens from inside the application, you don’t have to navigate away from what you were doing to look something up.
  • You can request support from the same widget. If the answer isn’t in the knowledgebase or you need a person, the widget includes a Get Support form with three urgency levels — from a non-urgent general question, through to an urgent callback that pages our on-call support team.

For many tasks the in-app widget is faster than browsing this site. For longer reading — getting set up for the first time, walking through a feature end to end, comparing options — this site is the better place.


Getting started

If you’re new to OutSmart, the Getting Started section walks you through the first hour of setup: creating your account, joining or starting an office, picking a subscription, and finishing your profile. The Pre-Launch Checklist at the end of that section is what we recommend you tick off before you take real patients.

If you’ve migrated from another EMR, the Importing Data from Other Systems pages cover the common imports (patient demographics, inventory, schedule, prior charts).


Finding things

The left-hand navigation is grouped by area of the product — Scheduling, Online Booking, Patient Workspace, Charting, Dispensary Management, and so on. The search bar at the top of every page searches every article. The AI Help widget inside OutSmart searches the same content.
