Smart Canvas

Difference between Private vs. Generic Canvas Images

When using the SmartCanvas within OutSmart’s medical charting system, you have the ability to upload images on which you can draw or make annotations. Some of these images will be generic images or bodies or body parts, which you wish to use as a generic template for many patients. These would be considered Generic Canvas Images or Canvas Templates.  Generic images will show up in the library of images available to be added to any patient chart.  To access your library, click on the Image Library button at the top of the Smart Canvas.

Select the image stack icon to access the image library.

On the other hand, you may wish to drag and drop a picture of a patient’s skin rash, for example, to visually identify and annotate points of interest.  If you choose to do this. I would recommend that you upload the image as a Private Image.  A private image will only be accessible within a chart for a specific patient, and will not show up as an image that can be added to anyone else’s chart.
