Prescriptions which are creating using the Products section of the Smart Charts system can be printed or faxed from 3 different places:
In order to print or fax your prescription from the Smart Charts Products section, you first need to create the prescription. You can do that by clicking on the +Prescription field in the Products section.
This will open up the prescriptions interface, and allow you to enter all the details of your prescription. Note that you can use Protocols to speed up prescription writing. Once you have entered your prescription, you can then click on the Print/Fax Rx button at the top left of the prescription area.
This will open up the print view of the prescription, where you will have several options on what to print or fax out. More details on the print view screen are provided further down in this help file.
In order to be able to print or fax a prescription from the patient workspace, you must first have entered the prescription in your Smart Chart for the patient. Note that both the Practitioner who creates the prescription, as well as anyone logged into an office Admin account, will be able to print or fax a prescription from the Patient Workspace.
You can get to the Patient Workspace in a varieyt of ways, but once you are there you will be looking for the Medical Summary area.
In the Medical Summary, you will see a listing of all active supplement and pharmaceutical recommendations for the patient. Prescriptions will have a “print” icon button located beneath them. Click on this button to launch the print view, from where you will have several options with regards to printing or faxing the prescription. More details on this are provided further down this article.
Both the practitioner who creates the prescription, as well as anyone logged into an office Admin account, may print a prescription from the Express Checkout on the Dashboard. This allows you to delegate the prescription printing or faxing to your office staff and make your schedule more efficient.
The Express Checkout card on the Dashboard will always show your admin staff all prescriptions and product recommendations that you have charted for your patient.
To print or fax a patient’s prescription from the Express Checkout card on the Dashboard, start by finding the patient in the card, and then clicking on their name in the blue bar – this will open up details regarding their clinic visit. Locate the prescription you want to print, and then click on the grey drop down button to the left of the prescription. Then click on “Print Prescription Sheet”. This will load up all prescriptions recommended by the practitioner in their Smart Chart.
Regardless of which of the above three methods you used, you will always end up here: The print view screen for all the prescriptions recommended to your patient during this visit.
This prescription print view will allow you to pritn or fax your patient’s prescription in 3 ways:
To print or fax all prescriptions, simply click on the Print All or Fax All buttons at the top of the prescription print view.
In order to print or fax only select prescriptions, you need to first click on the the “Select for print” checkboxes for each prescription that you want to include in your final print or fax.
Once you are done selecting the prescriptions you want to include in your print or fax, click on the “Print Selected” or “Fax Selected” buttons at the top of the prescription print view.
In order to print or fax a single prescription, simply click on the “Print this Rx Only” or “Fax This Rx Only” button corresponding to the prescription you choose.
