How To Clear Your Chrome Browser Cache

When you use OutSmart EMR in your browser, it saves copies of site files (the “cache”) on your computer so pages load faster. After we release an update, your browser might keep using those older files instead of the new ones.

For the best experience, clear your browser cache after each OutSmart update. You’ll see update notices inside the app when you’re signed in. If anything looks off or feels slow after an update, clearing your cache should be your first step.

The instructions below show how to clear only cached images and files in Google Chrome (so you won’t lose your browsing history or get signed out).

On a PC (Windows)

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click the three dots ⋮ in the top-right corner.
  3. Go to More toolsClear browsing data…
    • (Shortcut: press Ctrl + Shift + Delete to open this window directly.)
  4. In the pop-up, set Time range to All time.
    • (Some older versions say “Beginning of time.”)
  5. Check only Cached images and files.
    • Make sure Browsing history and Cookies and other site data are unchecked if you don’t want to lose history or get signed out of sites.
  6. Click Clear data.
  7. Close and reopen the tab (or press Ctrl + R) to load the freshest files.
You only need to clear cached images and files. No need to clear anything else.
